What file formats are supported?

You can upload your CV as a PDF or DOCX file, up to 10 MB. If parsing fails, you'll be offered a structured manual entry form as a fallback. The generated CV is delivered as a downloadable PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPEG, or plain text file.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, a free account is required so we can securely store your CV data and knowledge profile. Signing up takes seconds via email or social login.

How long does it take to generate a CV?

Most CVs are generated in under two minutes. The AI may ask a few follow-up questions to fill gaps, which adds a little time depending on how quickly you respond.

What is the knowledge profile?

As you use shortlisted.cv, we build a knowledge profile from your CVs and Q&A sessions. This includes your skills, achievements, experience, and education. On future sessions, these saved facts are automatically reused so you don't have to re-enter the same information.

Can I edit the generated CV after it's created?

The generated CV is delivered as a PDF and plain text. You can copy the plain text and edit it in any word processor. We also save your answers and knowledge profile, so you can start a new session with updated information at any time.

The AI is designed to restructure and optimise your existing experience — it never invents information. That said, you should always review the generated CV before submitting it. We display a disclaimer banner on every download to remind you.

What does ATS-optimised mean?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software is used by most employers to filter CVs before a human ever reads them. ATS-optimised means your CV uses the right keywords, formatting, and structure to pass these automated filters and reach a recruiter.

Can I tailor my CV for multiple jobs?

Yes — each session lets you paste a different job description, and the AI generates a uniquely tailored CV for that role. Your knowledge profile carries over, so subsequent CVs are even faster to produce.

Is my data safe?

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security policies. We never sell your CV or personal data. When optimising your CV, your data is processed by our AI service providers (Anthropic and Google) solely to generate your tailored CV — they do not retain or train on your data. You can download all your data or permanently delete your account at any time from your settings.

Is my CV used to train AI models?

No. Your CV data is sent to our AI providers solely to generate your optimised CV. Neither we nor our providers use your data for model training.

Can I delete my data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — including uploaded CVs, generated documents, and your knowledge profile — from your account settings at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan lets you upload your CV and see a match analysis against a job description. Generating a fully tailored CV requires a paid subscription.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through our payment provider, Polar. All transactions are processed securely.

Do you offer refunds?

Because the AI generates your CV immediately upon request, we generally don't offer refunds for used credits. If you experience a technical issue that prevents delivery, contact us and we'll make it right.
